LCK 2026 Finals: What the three teams fear most about each other, revealed at Media Day

The atmosphere at CHZZK LoL Park in Jonggak was different from a typical esports media day. T1, Gen.G Esports and Hanwha Life Esports all sent their head coaches plus two key players to face the press ahead of the LCK 2026 Finals. Instead of generic answers, every team named specific opponents and specific threats they were worried about. Gen.G head coach Yoo Sang-wook described T1 as difficult because of their ability to create variables and Hanwha Life Esports as hard because of their aggressive, tower-dive-heavy style. The three AD carries — Ruler, Gumayusi and Peyz — also gave sharp analysis. Ruler and Gumayusi praised Peyz's teamfight instincts, while Peyz said both veterans carry a huge amount of data and an overwhelming sense of experience. Veterans like Ruler praised Gumayusi’s laning reads and Gumayusi praised Ruler’s consistency, with both admitting they rely on smart play rather than raw mechanics. Kiin, Kanavi, and Keria contributed further layers. Kanavi highlighted Keria’s teamfight connection, and both Kanavi and Keria described Kiin as an ultra-versatile top laner who can play carries or tanks at the same elite level. Hanwha Life reached the final by beating T1 3-2 after trailing 1-2, while Gen.G beat Hanwha Life 3-1 in the upper bracket final thanks to Chovy’s Vex. Gen.G enter from the upper bracket and hold the advantage. The media day revealed not only respect but also psychological pressure. The question is whether T1’s variance can beat Gen.G’s macro, or whether Hanwha Life’s improved composure can upset both at the biggest stage.
